Free credit reports aren't free if FREE is in URL

Angela Lum, performed her rocker-blues, folk-a-delic grass music at a free concert in SF. But what if she advertised it as free but charged your credit card $26?

You'd call her Experian and recently, the FTC fined Experian for deceptive trade practices.

Experian owns a site freecreditreports.com. It bills you if you don't cancel the service. How hard is it to cancel?! Impossible. They also own consumer info dot com and do the same dis-service there.

The FTC levied a fine based on false advertising.

If you want a free report, beware of sites that claim, "Free Credit Reports". Run don't walk from things that look too good to be true. A site to get them free is at "Annual Credit Report dot com"
